Shea Evans Photography -- Tahoe Reno Food Photographer and Restaurant Photographer Shea Evans photographs about contact Services Blog
In a way, my life has been pointing me towards food and photography for a long time. At 12 I began cooking meals for my family, up to 4 a week by the time I graduated from high school. At 20, I began cooking professionally and haven’t stopped. I love food, whether it's the sushi that I've been making for the past 10 years, or the meals I create at home for my weekly blog. Whenever I travel I seek out new culinary experiences such as the best breakfast spot, the most interesting dessert, a unique specialty grocery store, or the freshest local food. At 16, I took a high school photography class and was immediately hooked. By the time I got to college I had my own camera, and for 4 years I worked at a small photo lab, learning studio techniques that still help me today. My life has brought me all over the country, and around the world; from Italy when I was young, to New Zealand as an adult, and South America most recently. Wherever I go, my camera is in my hands, documenting the food, the landscapes, the city streets and the people I meet along the way. Today I am lucky enough to turn these two lifelong passions into a career. I strive to create unique and memorable images. I hope to capture that fleeting moment of a real smile, a genuiune expression, an authentic human exchange and preserve it in a powerful photograph. I want my food images to produce a visceral reaction in the viewer, for them to get hungry, drop what they're doing and search for something to eat. I believe photographs can have this power and I'd love to share it with you.
